Media Training for Execs

Go from deer in the headlights to expert in the spotlight.

Represent your brand like a boss

No one told you that adding a capital “C” to your title meant you’d need to be center stage. Yet executives like you are routinely called upon to appear on video, on microphone, and on panels to represent the business.

What if you suck at it? You wouldn’t be alone. Adrenaline can start flowing when you’re put on the spot and in situations you aren’t used to or trained for.

Then the sweat starts flowing. And then the makeup. Your face muscles tense up and make you look like you’re preparing for torture. Instead of caring about your expertise, audiences care about your potential for a health emergency.

All of this is a very common experience for most people.

You just can’t with the cameras

Peering into a camera lens is not everyone’s comfort zone. Far from it: most people absolutely hate public speaking, and if cameras are rolling it’s even worse.

Yet video content of business leaders is on demand by your demand gen and content teams. Your title and your experience are a treasure trove of content to help drive leads to your business.

If only you could get over that bright red RECORD light.

You stumble over your speaking

“Uhs” and “ums” plague even the most seasoned public speakers. What starts out as cogent thoughts in your brain turn into a string of nervous stuttering as you speak into microphones.

Picturing everyone else naked doesn’t actually help. The problem lies in how relaxed you feel (or don’t feel) while you’re supposed to be sharing what you know.

Your face is saying, “fuuuuuu–“

You could have just come from a botox session, but your facial expression doesn’t lie to the audience. Every muscle screams that you’re uncomfortable and wish that a hole in the floor would swallow you away from the here and now.

Tension telegraphs all too easily across the camera and even the microphone, right when you want to look and sound like you’re at ease in your own skin and in your vast expertise.

Leave all of this wracking of nerves behind and start realizing you can be great on video.
